GMAT preparation

The first news is that GMAT TO DEBUT WITH NEW FORMAT IN JUNE 2012-

In June 2012, the GMAT exam will gain a new section designed to measure your ability to evaluate information from multiple sources. Incorporating advances in technology and measurement, the next generation GMAT will include a new 30-minute Integrated Reasoning section that will ask you to interpret data presented graphically, analyze different types of information, and evaluate outcomes.

Let we discuss how to prepare for GMAT- the GMAT is an aptitude test. like all aptitude tests, GMAT has chosen math,English,logic. the GMAT is the three and one half hour computer adaptive test. currently there four sections in the tests.
1. ANALYSIS OF ISSUE ESSAY - TIME 30 MINUTES.
2. ANALYSIS OF ARGUMENT ESSAY- TIME 30 MINUTES.
3.MATH- 37 QUESTION- TIME 75 MINUTES.
4.VERBAL-41 QUESTION- TIME 75 MINUTES.

The writing section begin the test.you will type your essay on the computer using a very basic word processor. each question must be answered before you can go to the next question. further you cannot return ta a question once you go to the next question.

This is the basic information about GMAT. Now comes to the point how to prepare for GMAT? To crack the GMAT is not as difficult as you think. Just follow the simple steps to prepare for GMAT.
1. Start your preparation with GMAT nova book this book is written by JEFF KOLBY. I am not saying that this is very good book for GMAT but it is good to build your concept in math. now how to use this book - in my opinion start topic wise first do formula that is given in every topic then do example don't touch the problems question until you finish all topics. The again start with formula and problems of all topics. this is the best way to use this book. if you can do this work with in 7days then you need only 2 months to prepare for GMAT , and if you can complete nova book with in 10-14 days then you need 3 months to prepare for GMAT, and if you need more then 14 days to complete nova book then you need 4 months to prepare for GMAT..

2. The next step is the GMAT official guide 12th edition. this book contain more than 800 past GMAT question with explanation. the explanation is not easy to understand but if you done nova book sincerely than you could be understand easily. first give the diagnostic test of this book and measure your skill. Then start with problems first try to solve question yourself if you find any difficulty then see the solution. This book is also good for data sufficiency question.

3. The 3rd step is- if want more practice question then you can use MANHATTAN GMAT PREP. Book this book also contain good question. try to do question your self. After completing these books. You will find your self more comfortable with GMAT math as well as in verbal also.

4. The next step is most important step that is full length tests.. you must have to take minimum 25 online full length tests. you can take the tests from www.mba.com. this is official site of GMAT as well as from Manhattan GMAT test, Pearson test that are actual gmat level tests . you can also download some good software from www.mba.com.
